A crypto trader shocked the online community Friday night when he committed suicide during a live stream after losing his last $500 in a meme coin scam.
Moments before pulling the trigger, @MistaFuccYou loaded a revolver and stated, "If I die, make me a meme coin." The gun misfired twice before firing on the third attempt, Cryptopolitan reported.
The livestream on X continued for more than 30 minutes after he fired the fatal shot. Within minutes of his death, meme coins with his name began appearing on the market. One of them, Mistacoin, was reportedly pre-minted and partially sent to his wallet before his death, raising speculation that the Russian Roulette-style suicide may have been a marketing stunt gone wrong.

"People call meme coin traders degenerates, but this is a whole other level, profiting off some dude's death," one user wrote. Many condemned the creation of tokens profiting off the tragedy, but others pointed out that the deceased had explicitly asked for it.
Some comments called for regulations protecting investors from "rug pulling," or "pump and dumps," which refer to the practice of insiders selling off large amounts of their ownership in a coin, causing its value to plummet. "This is not what the technology was built for," @HEALENetwork wrote.
As of now, no law enforcement agencies have confirmed the authenticity of the livestream, and MistaFuccYou's identity remains unverified.
