A Royal Caribbean cruise ship passenger was found dead Sunday inside her stateroom on the "Enchantment of the Seas." The cruise ship, based out of Baltimore, Md., arrived in port as scheduled on Monday.

Upon arrival in the cruise terminal in the Patapsco River in Baltimore, Royal Caribbean's "Enchantment of the Seas" was immediately boarded by FBI agents who were contacted by Royal Caribbean International at the time of the discovery. FBI officials say the circumstances of the Royal Caribbean cruise passenger's death have "suspicious undertones." The 64-year-old woman's body was discovered by her husband sometime on Sunday.

Officials have released very little information about the incident, other than the woman's age and hometown of Midlothian, Va., about 20 minutes southwest of Richmond.

Royal Caribbean International, based in Miami, Fla. released a statement regarding the incident, which read in part: "We extend our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the 64-year-old female guest from the United States who died while onboard Enchantment of the Seas. As is our standard procedure, both the FBI and local law enforcement were notified. The FBI responded to the ship when it arrived in Baltimore, Maryland, on Monday, March 25. A member of our Care Team is providing support and assistance to her family."

An autopsy of the woman is currently under way. This incident follows the recent breakdown of the Carnival "Triumph" cruise ship in the Gulf of Mexico that left passengers for days without power and fresh food.

The "Enchantment of the Seas," registered to Nassau, Bahamas, is part of Royal Caribbean's "Vision Class" of cruise ships. It has been in service since 1997 and has a capacity of just under 2,500 passengers. The "Enchantment" recently received upgrades to its staterooms and pool deck. The "Enchantment of the Seas" recent itinerary included Port Canaveral, Fla., Nassau, Bahamas and "CocoCay" (Little Stirrup Cay), Bahamas.
