Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. was seen recreating his father's legendary celebratory chant, "Siuuu" after the young footballer scored for Manchester United U12's in their win against CEF Gironès-Sàbat Wednesday.
Ronaldo Jr. and Kai Rooney have reportedly traveled to Spain to represent Man Utd at the MIC Cup, an international youth football tournament based in Costa Brava that features some of the best academies in the world.
Man Utd won the match 5-0, with Ronaldo Jr. netting their fifth goal. He was then mobbed by his excited teammates. Ronaldo Jr. did a poacher's instinct against CEF when he got his toe to a free-kick from the left-hand side. He then proudly proceeded to run to the corner flag and perform Cristiano Ronaldo's famous chant as fans inside the stadium all shouted "Siuuu."
Meanwhile, Man Utd's all-time top goalscorer Wayne Rooney wished his 8-year-old son, Kai, the best of luck for his first tournament. United’s youngsters showcased great skills during the game. Among the players are Shola Shoretire's brother Tunde, as did Edson Dejonge-Seiros, Joseph Deighton, Eddie Wright and Ronaldo Jr.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo's long-time partner Georgina Rodriguez was also present, together with twins Mateo and Eva, both four, and daughter Alana Martin, four.
Ronaldo Jr. officially signed for United's youth academy in February. He has since displayed impressive footwork and a massive improvement in every training session with the team.
The 37-year-old five-time Ballon d'Or winner has been outspoken about his son's talent and potential. However, he believed there is plenty of work to be done before making it to the professional field, "We’ll see if my son will become a great footballer," he once said in 2020.
"He has potential. He is fast and dribbles well, but that is not enough. I always tell him that it takes work and dedication to have success. I won’t pressure him to become a footballer, but if you ask me if I want him to, yes I would like it." The Portuguese player claimed, "The most important thing is to become the best at whatever he does, whether it is as a footballer or a doctor."
