Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly trying to argue about Erik ten Hag's high-pressing tactics in training.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner previously confirmed his desire to leave Old Trafford so he can participate in the Champions League. Ronaldo's absence from Manchester United's Asia pre-season tour has led to different speculations regarding his future at the club. Though he returned to the game, he was placed on the bench in their season opener against Brighton.
Ronaldo's behavior is becoming unmanageable as he attempted to argue about Ten Hag's dynamic training methods in Old Trafford, per The Athletic. The 37-year-old Portuguese footballer is reportedly not a big supporter of Ten Hag's high-pressing approach. He was also seen eating all by himself in the club canteen. Ronaldo is seemingly trying to be distant from the rest of the players.
Meanwhile, Ten Hag has previously slammed rumors that Ronaldo is unhappy in training. The former Ajax boss said that Ronaldo had not discussed any transfer plan with him. "That is your assumption [that Ronaldo wishes to depart]. That is not what he is telling me. So I deal with the players we have and we plan with him for this season and we have to fit him into the team so he has to come at the right fitness levels so that he can do the job that we expect him to do."
The striker declined to greet the fans after United's game at Brentford despite assistant coach Steve McClaren's request he joins the squad. The legendary striker headed down to the tunnel while the other players expressed their sincere apologies to the fans. Ronaldo seemed to openly display his anger following their 4-0 defeat on Saturday at the Gtech Community Stadium. It was seen as another shameful loss for United. Four first-half goals were executed by Josh Dasilva, Mathias Jensen, Ben Mee and Bryan Mbuemo.
Man Utd also suffered a 2-1 loss against Brighton during their opening match. Ten Hag's side failed to show improvement. The Red Devils are now at the bottom of the Premier League table after losing their two opening games.
