One of the most highly anticipated music events of the year is set to kick off in what promises to be one a truly entertaining evening. Thanks to the rise of popular artists and the continued success of seasoned favorites, the 2013 Country Music Awards certainly won't struggle for viewership and television ratings when they kick off on Wednesday, November 6 from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. An event that will be hosted by country superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, the annual awards show will once again provide country music fans across the globe with a premier opportunity to watch as some of their music icons receive top honors in the constantly growing world of country entertainment.

Among an A-list of scheduled performances, two-time Country Music Entertainer of the Year winner and 2013 Pinnacle Award recipient Taylor Swift will make an on-stage appearance during the ceremony. In addition to her being nominated for Entertainer of the Year - alongside Blake Shelton, George Strait, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan - Swift is also up for five additional awards including Single of the Year ('Highway Don't Care' feat. Tim McGraw and Keith Urban), Album of the Year ('Red'), Female Vocalist of the Year, Musical Event of the Year ('Highway Don't Care') and Music Video of the Year ('Highway Don't Care').

While Swift - who has also won the Video, Album and Vocalist of the Year awards in the past - is expected to enjoy a big night, Texas native Kacey Musgraves is in line for a big evening as well. Like Swift, the 25-year-old is also up for six awards including New Artist of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year. The emergence of her popular single 'Merry Go Round' has really put the rising star on the map and her footprint as the co-writer for Miranda Lambert's 'Mama's Broken Heart' really helped solidify Musgraves as a major player in the country music world.
