Priyanka Chopra and Meghan Markle are still bombarded by rumors about their broken friendship, which apparently started after the Duchess of Sussex failed to show up at the “Quantico” star's wedding with Nick Jonas in India.
A brand new rumor has doubled down, claiming that the friends are yet to settle their differences. Chopra apparently still can't get over the fact that Markle refused to come to the biggest day of her life because the flight to India from London is just too much. To add insult to the injury, the distance suddenly wasn't a problem for her when she traveled to New York for her baby shower.
According to Gossip Cop, this rumor is completely false. A representative of Chopra has provided a statement to the website saying that the story is “untrue” and that the two are still very good friends. The website further debunks the report by examining the reasons why Markle just couldn't be at Chopra's wedding.
For starters, while the distance may be the same, getting there is a different story. If Markle were to fly from London to the venue of the wedding, which is Jodhpur, she would be on the plane for 12 hours, not including a Delhi stop, which is clearly far longer than a four-hour direct flight from London to New York. But perhaps the more important reason is that Chopra probably didn't want her pregnant BFF in the country anyway because of the Zika virus. It would have put her and the future royal baby in danger.
As for those Markle and Chopra fans who still wonder why the latter wasn't able to take part in the baby shower, there is a simple explanation. The actress had prior work engagements in Los Angeles, which she had to attend.
Chopra and Markle have said time and again that their friendship is different from what people seem to think. As much as they want to be in each other's lives, they know that they are busy all the time and that their schedules provide little to no window for even a simple hangout like old times. That's why the pair makes it a point to keep in touch.
