2019 isn’t even over yet, but 2020 is already off to a merry start. On Monday, Dick Clark Productions and ABC announced the complete lineup of performers at the New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, teasing yet another amazing festivity to kick off the New Year.
Titled “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2020,” the upcoming New Year’s Eve special will feature a live performance at New York City’s Times Square just minutes before the clock strikes 12. The festivities will occur simultaneously in four different cities across the U.S., with the main event happening in New York City and the three others happening in Hollywood, New Orleans, and Miami.
In a Press Release, Dick Clark Productions confirmed on Tuesday that Post Malone would headline the event at Times Square. “Making his Times Square debut, Post Malone will be joined by additional performers like BTS, Sam Hunt and Alanis Morisette, performing for the first time with the case of the hit Broadway musical ‘Jagged Little Pill’ for America’s biggest celebration of the year,” the statement reads.
Also joining the slate of performers are Host Ciara, Paula Abdul, Kelsea Ballerini, Bianco Brown, Dan + Shay, Green Day, Dua Lipa, Ava Max, Megan Thee Stallion, Anthony Ramos, Salt-N-Pepa, and SHAED in Los Angeles, Host Billy Porter, Sheryl Crow and Usher in New Orleans, and Jonas Brothers in Miami.
For most families, witnessing “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” is a highly anticipated tradition every December 31st. No wonder, fans immediately trended the hashtag #RockinEve on Twitter just minutes after Dick Clark Productions announced the star-studded lineup.
In a statement, ABC Entertainment’s senior vice president for Alternative Series, Specials and Late Night Rob Mills promised that the upcoming event would be a memorable one for viewers, whether they’re watching the event at home or at Times Square.
“Ringing in the New Year with this unbelievable roster of talent is sure to be a magical event,” said Mills. We couldn’t be more excited to honor and share this iconic celebration with the world,” he added.
“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2020” will mark the 48th anniversary of the annual show and will include more than five hours of special performances. The event will broadcast live on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
