Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay says he isn’t ready to oust Dan Snyder as Washington Commanders owner.
“I’m not ready to vote him out,” Irsay said after attending December’s league meetings. “I need to hear more of my partners talk. It’s been something where you want to get more information about everything is the key.”
Two months prior, Irsay said that “there is merit” to remove Snyder as owner amid an investigation into Washington under claims of workplace misconduct and financial improprieties.
The new comments come after the House Committee on Oversight and Reform released their report on the Washington Commanders after allegations of workplace misconduct. The report found that Washington had established a workplace culture of sexual harassment toward its female employees by high ranking executives. Snyder was named as a perpetrator in the report.
“I said from the beginning, I was only interested in finding out more because there’s a lot of concern and there’s merit to look that possibility,” Irsay said. “But I said give it consideration or look at it. I never said vote him out. It’s something that’s a big deal. We’ll see what the new year brings.”
Snyder and his wife Tanya are currently exploring the possibility of selling part or all of the Washington Commanders.
