A Colorado man was arrested for a DUI after crashing his vehicle and telling police he was a "professional drinker," with a blood alcohol content over four times the legal limit.
On December 4, 2024, Wheat Ridge police responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Wadsworth Boulevard, according to KDVR.
The driver involved in the accident admitted to consuming around 10 alcoholic drinks before the incident, boasting about his drinking habits.
"I'm going to tell you right now, like, I'm a professional drinker," the driver told police.
The unnamed driver, who was not injured, was arrested for DUI after his BAC registered at 0.326.
Wheat Ridge police noted that DUI crashes in the area had risen 36% this year, and arrests for DUI had increased by 27%.
While no injuries were reported from the crash, the man will likely face legal consequences for driving under the influence.
