Colin Kaepernick continues to ruffle the feathers of Americans, as his signature kneeling pose just earned itself the cover of TIME Magazine.
The mercurial star blossomed into somewhat of a freedom fighter over the past several weeks because of his stance on the social injustices plaguing the United States. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback has sat or kneeled during the National Anthem to signify his protest.
"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media last month. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."
TIME’s Sean Gregory tackled the pressing issue of Kaepernick’s decision to kneel in the magazine’s latest issue. In addition, he also wrote about the bevy of athletes who followed Kap’s fearless tactic over the past month.
On Wednesday, ESPN’s Darren Rovell reported that a new poll consisting of 1100 people for E-Poll Marketing Research suggested that Kaepernick is the "most disliked player in the NFL." To make matters worse, 37% of Caucasians stated that they dislike him “a lot.” Earlier this week, Kaeperinck explained to the press how he has received death threats recently because of his bold stance.
Take a look at the cover and chime in on whether you think Kap is wrong for kneeling during the National Anthem.
