‘Cobra Kai’ Season 5 Could See Dark Transformation Of Daniel LaRusso

Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) had shown signs of possibly going dark for those who have followed “Cobra Kai” since the beginning.

While that distinction was for Jonny Lawrence (William Zabka), the series showed moments when LaRusso took it too far and made wrong moves.

Heading into season 5, there is no question that the ultimate quest is to take down antagonist Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith). A lot of that could be seen in the sequences on the trailer of the upcoming fifth season.

Further, LaRusso will get some help from Chozen Toguchi (Yuji Okumoto). While the intent is cooperation from the two rivals, there is no telling if LaRusso will take it farther with the hatred he carries against Silver.

There is no question that the official trailer showed some possible angles for “Cobra Kai” season 5. Daniel could be seen arguing with his wife, Amanda LaRusso (Courtney Henggeler). There was also that sequence showing Daniel staring at his family picture.

Also, the history between LaRusso and Silver dates back to the third Karate Kid movie. He was conned into believing he would be made invincible by the ponytailed Silver, only to find out that he was a pawn in the Cobra Kai dojos intent for payback.

LaRusso could lose it and be on the warpath, similar to what he did on Karate Kid Part III. Many remember how he lost focus and went against the wishes of Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita). In the end, he was able to re-focus and get his life in order.

This may be the same path that LaRusso will take. However, the question now is will this be at the cost of tearing his family apart?

All that should be answered this September. “Cobra Kai” season 5 is set to premiere on Sept. 9 on Netflix.
