Mexican rock group Zoé is set to join the likes of Arcade Fire, Beck, Lana del Rey, Muse and Outkast at this year's Coachella festival in California on the 13th and 20th of April. The acclaimed alternative group has just released their new record "Programatón" which was recorded at Sonic Ranch, the biggest recording studio in world found in Tornillo Texas. The album was produced by Phil Vinall who has worked with such artists as Placebo, Pulp, Mark Knopfler and Elastica.
"Programaton" brings a new and mature sound to Zoé with a greater lyrical and instrumental depth than has been hitherto witnessed from the band. It makes it clear why they are considered not just one of the biggest groups in Mexico and indeed all of Latin America. They will be joined at Coachella by Lorde, Queens of the Stone Age, Calvin harris, MGMT, Foster the People, Pharrell Williams, Chromeo, Mogwai, Neutral Milk Hotel, Neko, Case and others.
Zoé is made up of León Larregui (vocals and guitar), Sergio Acosta (guitar), Ángel Mosqueda (bass), Rodrigo Guardiola (drums) y Jesús Báez (keyboard). The group has sold more than a million albums worldside in both digital and physical sales. Their recording at MTV Unplugged wetn quadruple platinum in Mexico and won the Latin Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Rock Song for their hit single "Labios rotos."
