The Canadian entertainment mogul “Cirque du Soleil” and Soda Stereo band members, Zeta Bosio and Charly Alberti, are putting together a new production that will pay tribute to the band, and late lead singer Gustavo Cerati.
The awaited new show, produced by Cirque du Soleil, Popart and Triple, will have its debut on March 2017 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, followed by presentations in other Latin American countries such as, Chile and México.
Bosio and Alberti are currently in Montreal, where they are collaborating with the people from Cirque du Soleil to bring the show to life. Let’s not forget that Cirque is responsible for other successful shows of the type such as “Love” based on songs from The Beatles, Michael Jackson’s “One,” and “Viva ELVIS.”
Bosio and Alberti shared some details about the creation process with the Argentinian press, “ We had to look into our personal memories, remember situations that were somewhat forgotten. We had to explain the aesthetics of each new album, the scenography from each live performance. They want to understand what was happening to each one of us during those moments, and what do we feel like now, as we remember them,” Charly told “La Nación.”
The band members agreed that these types of shows are all about spectacle and movement in space, so it has been a challenge to describe the “sensorial experiences” that they went through during their concerts in 1980 and 1990, “We have to put all this in relation to the times that moving in space require, because this is essentially a theatre show. That’s why we think it doesn’t matter which hit songs marked us on a personal level. We are letting them use all our material, and more. But what is essential is that they can interpret that as they visualize the scenography.”
Zeta and Charly expressed their excitement to see the final product, and they hope that their fans will be as surprised with their show, as they were when they experienced other Cirque du Soleil tribute shows.
