Chrysler is campaigning a new marketing effort alongside Warner Bros. Pictures' summer blockbuster "The Dark Knight Rises." Called "Imported from Gotham City," a cute play off of the brand's "Imported from Detroit" slogan, the campaign aims to piggyback on the success of the franchise.
According to Chrysler brand manager Saad Chehab, "The 2012 Chrysler 300 featured in this marketing and advertising campaign was created intentionally to look as if it could be driven on the streets and fit in to the nightlife of Gotham City; it's clearly a vehicle that stands out and makes one take notice."
Launched Friday, the marketing campaign features an "Imported from Gotham City" contest, encouraging fans to participate by creating their original co-branded TV spot that will feature the Chrysler 300 sedan combined with Batman themed images and musical scores.
The lucky winner of the contest, which will be chosen by Dark Knight director, writer, and producer Christopher Nolan, the director, will have his work debut on television around the film's July 20 release.
What's more, the winner will also enjoy an all-expenses paid trip to Hollywood to work on the video alongside a professional editor before he or she heads out to New York City for the glamorous red carpet premiere of "The Dark Knight Rises" on July 16.
Besides the contest spot, Chrysler will air its own 30-second, co-branded television spot titled "Imported from Gotham City" featuring the 300 sedan, on June 19.
