For a price of $35, the 2-inch device features a stripped down version of Chrome OS and is able to stream content from Netflix, YouTube, Google Play and Chrome over your WiFi network on the television screen. This is a feature that closely resembles Apple's "AirPlay," where content from a handheld device is pushed over the cloud and appears on the television via your AppleTV.
The AppleTV has been labeled as a hobby by Cupertino and has not maximized its potential with limited features for a cost of $99. Google's solution comes for $64 less with virtually the same features.
An SDK is available for app makers to include a "Cast" button in their applications so users can stream content on their tv sets.
