Governor Chris Christie, R-N.J. took a break from serious politics this week to film a lighthearted video for YouTube. Gov. Christie's video, "Maybe There Is Something To This Fleece", offers a self-deprecating few minutes of notable cameos and Garden State references.

Pictures and video of Christie often show him wearing his now-famous fleece jacket that reads "Chris Christie [line break] Governor". Christie wore the fleece during most of his press conferences throughout the Jersey Shore following Hurricane Sandy. Since then, the governor has not been seen too often with his famous fleece. At the same time, his popularity is slowly eroding. Some have said it has been due in part to gracious statements describing President Obama's aid following the storm, a sticking point with many conservatives.

Others have said Christie is just moderating too much. Longtime outspoken ally Ann Coulter recently 'dumped' her political beau. The fiery conservative told attendees at CPAC 2013 that the New Jersey governor is "off my list", when it comes to potential 2016 candidates.

The video centers on this storyline; without the fleece, Christie has lost his former popularity.

Chris Christie's fleece video is posted below, and here is a quick synopsis:

The scene opens in the executive office in Trenton. Christie is speaking with a young aide about the importance of getting the "budget deal done": passing a balanced budget the fourth year in a row in New Jersey. The aide informs him it may be a rocky road to a fiscally responsible budget package. Demands from "The Essex Delegation", referring to the liberal county that includes the state's largest city of Newark, which reportedly doesn't jive with the governor's conservative outlook, have hindered the process. The folks in Essex County supposedly want a new addition to their zoo, a wounded giraffe from the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, D.C.

The aide tells Christie that the animal's injury would make it more affordable to purchase and would also return the governor to the press spotlight in a positive way. "Now wait a second," Christie says irritably, "you're trying to me that buying a giraffe-an injured giraffe-is somehow going to help me politically in New Jersey?" Christie said, noting it would instead annoy his fiscally hawkish Republican base.

Meanwhile, an empty glass case is rolled through the halls of the State House in Trenton toward Christie's office, to the disbelieving faces of his staffers. It finally reaches Christie, who is told his fleece, which formerly occupied the case is missing. Christie dismisses the lost jacket, saying the fleece was "so last year". He said he didn't need the jacket because he is again a regular MSNBC contributor, friendly with Jersey favorites Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen, and not hurting in the least from its absence in his view.

Later, in New York, C. Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski are preparing to go on-air on MSNBC's "Morning Joe". Christie appears on set, and Scarborough is shocked. Needing to find a way to weave Christie into his live program, he begins explaining Christie's collapse in popularity to Christie's disbelief.

The video continues, featuring Chris Christie's mishaps as he attempts to visit all of his famous "friends" throughout New Jersey. He later is prevented from meeting with Springsteen and dismissed by Jon Bon Jovi.

A backstory develops featuring Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno, R-N.J. Guadagno, satirizing the public interpretation of a lieutenant governorship, is seen playing Solitaire when notified of her needed assistance.

Christie, after being blown off at a Garden State town hall by...everybody, realizes that he needs his fleece. Enter references to or cameos by Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla. State Senate President Stephen Sweeney, D-Camden, "Saturday Night Live" cast member Bobby Moynihan, and New York Jets coach Rex Ryan.

Nobody has seen his fleece, and Christie begins to panic. That is, until Alec and Hilaria Baldwin are introduced into the storyline, near their Greenwich Village, N.Y. home. Watch the video below to find out why "Jack Donaghy", of all people, may know the location of Chris Christie's famous fleece jacket.
