America has recorded a thrilling and resounding victory against Chivas in the Liga MX Clasico. The Agilas dominated possession throughout the match with two goals coming from Luis Gabriel Rey one in the first ten minutes of the match, and one goal apiece from Raul Jimenez and Jesus Mendoza. Chivas tried desperately to get back into the game following a couple of early goals, but the men from Guadalajara were no match for the America's onslaught.

Chivas never quite seemed in the game. Despite some excellent defence from Jair Pereira, the team from Guadalajara never quite seemed up to the challenge brought to them by the America team. America went into the match with high expectations after the recovery of 'El Tri' player Miguel Layun. Earlier in the week Jesus Molina expressed the team's wishes: "We have to win. We are going with that in mind because, after all, it's a Clasico. We are going in in with a winning mentality. We will be fighting for at least a 2-1 victory."

Well, Molina got a lot more than what he asked for. Goals came from Luis Gabriel Rey in the 9th and 14th minute. Raul Jimenez scored in the 56th minute, bringing the score to 3-0. The nail in the coffin came from Jesus Mendoza in the 74th minute. Several disappointed Chivas fans left soon after. The America's defence also worked hard and Moises Muñoz also made some pretty impressive saves to back up his team's incredible performance.
