6) Pomegranates: Pomegranates hold a special place in the lives of the Chinese. The fruit which symbolizes prosperity and harmony is loaded with anti-inflammatory benefits and is known to lower blood pressure.
7) Persimmon: Persimmons are edible fruits from a species of trees in the genus Diospyros. The Chinese believe that Persimmons sync with the phrase, “ everything goes according to your wishes”. Needless to say, including these fruits either as they are or as cakes into your New Year snacking will amp up your luck factor. Test it to believe it!
The following aren't fruits but they are also considered lucky snacks meant to bring you good fortune this new year:
8) Popped Rice: The Chinese love rice— steamed, cooked, boiled, fermented, stir-fried, pan-fried, there are multiple options to devour this popular staple. But, were you aware that candy with popped rice and malt is a treat that’s known to represent wealth and prosperity? This crispy and chewy snack is known to satiate your hunger pangs and also makes for a great nostalgic snack.
9) Peanut Candy: If you’ve got a sweet tooth, this snack must probably be one of your favorites. While they’re widely available in the market, you could also try baking them at home.
