Even though chef Alun Williams was found dead after playing a kinky sex game about eight years ago, people of Shepherdswell, a village just north of Dover, are still shocked.
In 2013, Williams, who lived in Coxhill Road in Shepherdswell, was 47 years old when he had passed away after playing a sex game which involved him being wrapped in cling film. Back then, his neighbor Michaela Greenstreet found the news “mad” while another neighbor said that it was a shock to the village, reported Kent Live.
A court had heard how he had exchanged texts, and agreed to have sex with defendants David Connor and Richard Bowler on Aug. 19. The chef, who reportedly often met men online for sex, was interested in bondage and mummification.
On the fateful night, Williams arrived at a flat in Dover. It was previously occupied by Bowler, who has cerebral palsy, and his friend Connor. The following morning, Bowler called Kent Police saying that Williams had stopped breathing after they had indulged in a "kinky sex game," according to Daily Star.
Connor told cops that he left the flat after Bowler told him someone was coming for a sex session. Connor came back after midnight on Aug. 20. Bowler apparently told him that Williams wanted to be wrapped in cling film. But when Williams was struggling to breathe, Bowler reportedly cut open the plastic wrap before performing CPR on him.
Around 6am that day, Connor told his mother that Bowler had killed someone. Prosecutor Ian Hope said that cops found gas mask, ties, cocaine, ketamine, methamphetamine and other substances in Williams' rucksack.
The pathologist, who examined his body, said that he had seen just one case like it in 37 years of his career. During the post-mortem examination, it was found that the lungs and brain of the deceased were congested.
In 2014, Bowler was found guilty of Williams' manslaughter by gross negligence, and was sentenced to five years in jail. Connor, on the other hand, was cleared of the charge.
A judge told Bowler, "In my judgment, you lost sight of the fact that day that Alun Williams was a human being and thought of him as your 'sex buddy', as you put it." The judge said that he was responsible for an act of "gross negligence" by leaving Williams in a "giant plastic bag."
