Former WNBA star Chamique Holdsclaw pleaded guilty to an assault on her former girlfriend last November. Jennifer Lacy, also a former WNBA star was arguing with Holdsclaw when reports claim Holdsclaw smashed the windows of Lacy's car and then fired a shot into the vehicle.
When police in Atlanta arrived at the scene of the incident Holdsclaw gave her self up and spent two days in jail. Nobody was injured during the scuffle.
That November Chamique Holdsclaw was arrested and charged with "aggravated assault, criminal damage in the first degree, [and] two counts of criminal damage in the second degree and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony," OMG Yahoo reports.
Fox Sports says the 35-year-old Olympic gold medalist was sentenced to three-years probation and fined $3,000 when she pled guilty. Holdsclaw's lawyer Ed Garland spoke with various media outlets saying his client felt it would be best for all parties involved if she took responsibility for her actions and pled guilty.
Chamique Holdsclaw played in the WNBA for 12 seasons. In 2009 she and former girlfriend Jennifer Lacy were teammates on the Atlanta Dream. According to USA Today Holdsclaw admitted to battling depression and even attempted suicide in 2006 when she was playing ball for the Los Angeles Sparks.
