It has been more than a month since NFL star Chad Ochocinco Johnson has been accused of head butting is now ex-wife Evelyn Lozada.
And now, after much pushback, Johnson and Lozada are officially divorced, according to TMZ.
A Florida judge signed off on the divorce early Wednesday morning.
Later that day, Johnson told his side of the story, finally breaking his story on an appearance on 'Inside The NFL'
Johnson said he lost two things that he loved because of his altercation with Lozada.
"I lost two things that I love: football and being married," Johnson said. "Being a husband, being a lover was an honor. And I lost that. They have that saying, 'You never know what you have until it's gone.' And now I finally know what they mean."
Johnson was fired fro the Miami Dolphins just one day after the incident.
Johnson said he has always taken full responsibility for the events that unfolded that night.
"Where do I go from here? I gotta work on Chad," Johnson said. "Chad has to work on Chad. Chad has to go deep down inside and figure out where you went wrong. At what point did you lose focus on what's most important-Especially the game of football. There was a time where, when I touched that field Sunday, you knew what time it was. At some point, I had drifted off track away from that."
Johnson said he is currently taking anger management classes and trying to find out out to channel his anger and how to diffuse situations where he would "pop-off."
Johnson said he has not spoken to Lozada since the he was jailed for domestic battery.
"What I need to do is work on Chad," Johnson said. "There's nothing I can say to her because she's already heard it already. I can say it through my actions. Because actions speak louder than words. This is the time for me to show actions. Period."
