Spiral notebooks, binders, school desks, driver's cup holder, keyboards, game controllers, dealing with scissors, butter knives and getting ink or graphite on the side of your hand are only a few of the many struggles lefties have to deal with on a daily basis. But not on August 13, the International Left-Handers Day, an initiative from the Left-Handers Club to increase public awareness of the advantages and disadvantages of being left-handed. Only about 10 percent of the world's population is left-handed, and although there are disadvantages of being a lefty, there are also some pretty sweet advantages.
Left-handers are more likely to pass their driver's test on the first try, a study shows. They are also more apt to deliver a better left hook and be a part of Mensa, the world's largest and oldest high IQ society. Many famous people are or were left handed, such as the president of the United States Barack Obama, Angelina Jolie, Oprah, Bill Gates, Prince William, Bill Clinton, Charlie Chaplin, Jimmi Hendrix, Judy Garland, Beethoven, Isaac Newton, and the list goes on. Latinos also have their share of lefties, and the pics below prove that not only are they successful, but they're super sexy!
