It's sad to turn on the TV and all of the sudden your favorite shows are not there anymore. Unfortunately, CBS had to take some measurements to improve the ratings and cancel some of our longtime favorites, but our hearts will be forever grateful for all the years of laughter, suspense and drama.
Yes, "CSI: New York" has been cancelled. After nine seasons and having hot flashes every time Eddie Cahill was shown on screen, we're sad to say goodbye. If it's any consolation, "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (Las Vegas) is still on, and even though the ratings are not what they used to be, the show is going for a 14th season.
"Rules of Engagement" also got the ax, after an impressive seven-year-run. The show was basically used as "benchwarmer" by CBS, plugging in holes on the schedule when new comedies failed, but surprisingly lasted this long as we all fell in love with David Spade (you all know you actually enjoy him in the show!)
Also not returning: "Vegas" and "Golden Boy," and cancelled earlier: "Friend Me," "The Job," "Made in Jersey" and "Partners."
Not everything is bad news, as "2 Broke Girls," "Big Bang Theory," "The Amazing Race," "CSI (Vegas) and more have been renewed.
The big shocker this year was "Two and a Half Men", who was also renewed for another season with Ashton Kutcher, Jon Cryer but not with Angus T. Jones, although he is reportedly coming back as a recurring character.
"Two and a Half Men" is the network's second highest-rated sitcom next to "The Big Bang Theory."
