Catherine Zeta-Jones, the 53-year-old actress, claimed that she loves Lionel Messi, 35, and added that her husband Michael Douglas, 78, is “fine” with her admiration for the Paris Saint-Germain player. Messi led his national team Argentina side to a World Cup victory on Sunday. In the final, he scored two goals to help his side beat France at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar, Yahoo News reported.
“The best match I have ever seen, ever!!! Look, I support Paris Saint Germain, why, one wonders, I love the French, speak it too, my heart goes out to you," she said on Instagram.
“But you have to understand, I Love MESSI, and the best bit?....my husband is just fine with it. no need to....so Don’t cry for me or anybody else, Argentina!!!! OLE!!! What a guy! Doesn’t care about my Messi posters all over the house, like....super cool,” she added.
Catherine, who has two children with her husband Michael, also posted a video of her TV as Argentina’s players celebrated after their victory. In the video, she can be heard singing: “Ole, Ole, Ole!”
“It took so long, but here it is. We suffered a lot, but we managed to do it," Messi said after the win.
The nail-biting and intense World Cup final is being hailed as the greatest World Cup final in the history of the tournament, Eastern Mirror reported.
Catherine recently celebrated her 22-year wedding anniversary with Michael. She opened up about their relationship and their 25-year age gap in a recent interview.
She said in the interview that she loves “being married” and admitted that it’s a “crazy thing”.
“I’ve been waking up to Mike for nearly 25 years. I love being married but it’s a crazy thing when you really think about it. ‘Will you marry me?’ ‘Sure!’ But then you think about the Chanel purse you spent a fortune on, and actually, I don’t really like it anymore – I’ll put it up for resale,” Catherine said.
The couple got married at New York City’s Plaza Hotel on Nov. 18, 2000. The couple shares two children, Dylan, 22, and Carys, 19. Catherine added that they “still spend a hell of a lot of time together.”
“We were born on the same day, 25 years apart. We’re just very good with one another, we respect each other, and I never really feel that he’s 25 years older than me. I remember people saying, when you’re 50, he’s going to be 75. Well, that’s just maths,” she said.
