The final "Catching Fire" trailer has been released and the film hits theaters nationwide Nov. 22. The second instalment of the "Hunger Games" series will see Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, competing once again in the Hunger Games tournament. This time Katniss will be up against other Hunger Games winners since it is the 75th anniversary of the games. Katniss, Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and other champions are forced to compete in the Quarter Quell, a version of the Hunger Games that takes place every 25-years.
Before Katniss and Peeta are back in the arena fighting for their lives they are taking a victory tour around the 12 districts. Katniss volunteered in the 74th Hunger Games for no other reason than to save her sister's life. By refusing to play by the rules of the Hunger Games and unknowingly showing the people of Panam that you can stand up to those ruling over them, Katniss has ignited a rebellion within the districts. President Snow (Donald Sutherland) is out to make sure Katniss doesn't survive her second round in the games, but putting the "girl on fire" out is easier said than done.
The final trailer before "Catching Fire" is released in November reveals some of what Katniss has to go through in the Quarter Quell. Past "Catching Fire" trailers have shown Katniss at home and on tour dealing with the aftermath of her victory during the Hunger Games. The final trailer shows Katniss training for and fighting in the quarter quell. President Snow is watching this year's games closely and is looking to make sure Katniss does not survive. Katniss is seen shooting arrows and dealing with some psychological torture.
The trailer begins with Katniss tossing her bow over her shoulder and climbing to the top of one of the trees in the jungle arena. Katniss then takes aim and looses an arrow at the invisible force field that keeps the tributes from fleeing the arena. Snow is watching Katniss do this and it looks as the arrow is coming right at him. Other clips from the upcoming film include images of the fog that paralyzes the tributes and the genetically altered monkeys that are super aggressive and made especially for these games.
The next bit of torture the game makers have in store for the tributes and especially Katniss is jabberjays, which flock around Katniss screaming in the voices of her loved ones. Katniss tries to escape the birds, but is trapped when she runs face first into an invisible wall. Katniss has never been a hopeless romantic, she is only pretending to be in love with Peeta in order to keep her family safe. But she and Peeta will share a tender moment in the film when Peeta hands her a locket with images of Prim, Katniss' mom and Gale.
