While Carly Rae Jepsen was well known for her catchy songs, she is now remembered for the worst first pitch ever! The "Call Me Maybe" singer had some serious issues while throwing out the first pitch at the Tampa Bay Rays game in Florida on Sunday.
The 27-year-old certainly looked the part sporting a personalized "Jepsen" jersey and matching Rays cap, but when it came time to show her stuff, the singer missed the mark. Jepsen wildly threw the baseball towards the far left of the strike zone; the ball then bounced and collided with a photographer, knocking the camera from his hands.
All quickly forgave the incident as the Canadian pop sensation immediately ran over to check on the stricken man. The photographer was uninjured although Jepsen seemed to have her pride wounded. Luckily, Rays pitcher, Matt Moore then embraced a chagrined Jepsen and shared a laugh with the singer.
Taking the embarrassing incident lightly, Jepsen uploaded a collage commemorating her first pitch. She captioned the image: "A before and after. Me taking the mound. Me knocking the camera out of the photographers hands with the baseball. And me getting a sympathy hug from the catcher. Omg."
Nonetheless, Carly was not brought down by the pitching incident as she gratefully tweeted afterwards: "Met a lot of lovelies at this game today! Go Rays!"
Jepsen did have the chance to redeem herself following her wild pitch; Jepsen had a dynamite musical performance later that day.
