As we had reported back in April, Carlos Vives got together with Marc Anthony to collaborate in a new song called “Cuando Nos Volvamos a Encontrar.” It was written by Vives and produced by Andrés Castro in Miami, and it’s the second single of Carlos Vives’ new album “Más + Corazón Profundo,” released in May. This song comes after “El Mar de sus Ojos” feat. ChocQuibTown, which positioned Carlos Vives at the top of iTunes Colombia and became the number one at the Billboard Chart in the US.
Carlos’ new album “Más + Corazón Profundo” has 10 tracks and a few “bonus tracks” including the Coca-Cola anthem for the FIFA World Cup, “El Himno de Todos” featuring David Corey in the Spanglish version and Gaby Amarantos in the “Portoñol” version. In the new single “Cuando Nos Volvamos a Encontrar” both vallenato and salsa get together in a seamless union that showcases both genres with a perfect balance and mixes Marc’s and Carlos’ voices to make one sweet melody that will captivate you.
“‘Cuando Nos Volvamos a Encontrar’ is a collaboration that came out of our friendship and the desire to unite two different brands and enjoy the musical genetics that connects us,” said Vives in a statement. “The fact that Marc had a great time during the recording and the video shoot is a sign that we did a good job,” added the Colombian singer. As for the music video, it was shot in April 25 in Miami and features Colombian actress Paola Turbay. It was produced by Mestiza Films and directed by Felipe Montoya.
In the video, Carlos and Marc are dressed in costume, and singing to the same woman. They mix drama and humor and go from present to past and vice versa, recreating different scenarios in black and white and in color. The video was released today.
