It’s always a difficult when you’re favorite TV shows get canceled. Like the old saying goes, breaking up is hard to do. So with a heavy heart, its time to reveal what shows have received the unfortunate ax and what series have survived. But before you rejoice about some of your favorite network shows surviving, you may want to check out our full list of canceled series for the 2014 season, because there are a lot and too many of our personal favorites. Topping the list of canceled 2014 TV shows is the Sofia Vergara-produced series, “Killer Women,” which lasted a sad, one season. In addition, CBS’ high-paced thriller “Hostages” surprisingly got the ax, too. The attempted answer to NBC’s “The Backlist” suffered in ratings despite having a killer cast. And while NBC found success with “The Blacklist,” fans will be saying goodbye to fan favorites “Community,” “Revolution” and “Sean Saves The World.”
While a few of the canceled primetime series were surprises, most of the cancellations were somewhat anticipated. While the CW has capitalized on the teen drama space, a few of their newer series didn’t survive. “Star Crossed” and the newly rebooted supernatural classic, “The Tomorrow People” have been canceled, while the “Sex and City” prequel “The Carries Diaries” is ending after two moderately successful seasons. Last but not least, Fox is trimming the fat of many of their comedy dramas including “Dads,” “Raising Hope,” “Rake” and “Enlisted.” The surprise cancellation from Fox is “The X Factor,” which ran for a successful 3 seasons, with the rising competition from the original “American Idol” singing competition and the popular “The Voice.” Executive producer Simon Cowell decided to return to the original U.K. version of the series, prompting it’s cancellation.
