Can Sarah Ferguson Ever Return To The Royal Fold?

Queen Elizabeth’s huge affection toward Sarah Ferguson will see Fergie in the “inner sanctum” again. Royal experts believe that Queen Elizabeth and Fergie’s closeness may pave the way for Fergie to become a prominent member of the royal family again after more than two decades of being out of the limelight.

Queen Elizabeth's closeness to Sarah is not a secret to the British public. Even before the scandal that broke her marriage to Prince Andrew, the Queen had always shared a special relationship with her former daughter-in-law. In fact, Queen Elizabeth is a huge fan of the Duchess of York until today.

According to royal experts, Queen Elizabeth’s affection toward Fergie will be key to her return to the royal fold. Speaking on the royal documentary “The Royal Family: Affairs And Infidelities,” royal author Anna Pasternak said there’s a huge possibility for Fergie and Prince Andrew to reconcile, especially since none of them has remarried since their divorce.

“They are the best co-parents and they are desperately fond of each other,” Pasternak said. “I happen to know that the Queen is a huge fan of Sarah’s and has an enormous affection for her,” she added. Because of the growing closeness of Fergie and Prince Andrew, she said that the public may see more of Fergie within the inner sanctum of the royal family.

Another royal expert, Richard Kay, said Fergie’s return to the royal fold is not far from happening, especially since a reunion between Fergie and Prince Andrew now looks more likely. “They declared that they were best friends and years later they are still sort of ‘together’ in many ways,” he said. “They’re still under the same roof. Andrew hasn’t remarried, nor has Sarah — it seems to suit them better,” he added.

Fergie has been very visible in royal events, as documented in the last couple of months. Photographs of her attending Lady Gabriella’s wedding and the Chelsea Flower Show made the rounds online earlier this month, showing her sharing sweet moments with her ex-husband, Prince Andrew.

If it is true that she and Prince Andrew are secretly back together, then Queen Elizabeth will be the first to shout for joy. Queen Elizabeth and Fergie have managed to maintain their close relationship despite what happened between Fergie and Prince Andrew, and Fergie has always been the Queen’s favorite daughter-in-law all these years.
