"Call of Duty: Ghosts" creators Infinity Ward released a slew of never-before-seen features for the upcoming game set for November release. Some exiciting features will be arriving with the game's multiplayer mode, Mark Rubin, executive producer at Infinity Ward, said at its Los Angeles unveiling event. These are some of the biggest changes developers have made regarding its gameplay.
"This is the biggest overhaul of multi-player we've done since the original Modern Warfare," Ward said.
Of course, there was the usual better scenery, terrains and weapons, but now that game allows for almost limitless customization of characters. Gamers can now choose the character's head, body type, gear and more making for 20,000 possible combinations -- including playing as a female soldier, the first in the game's history. Along with unique customization, there are a series of three challenging modes gamers may play in to alter the difficulty of challenges.
Cranked, for instance, grants players a boost in movements and speed after a kill. But beware -- once a kill is completed, this mode will start a timer that requires the character to get another kill before the countdown is over or else he or she will explode. Killstreaks, however, will also get some changes as developers scaled down the amount of aerial killstreaks in favor of more ground-based ones. Rubin said gamers can anticipate 20 new ways to complete killstreaks, though deathstreak bonuses will be going the way of aerial attacks.
Another mode is Search and Resuce, which can put a player who is down back in the game provided the right person picks up their tag after death. When a character is killed, their tag is left out in the open for someone to recover. If a teammate picks it up, that player is back in the game. If it gets into enemy hands, though, that player is out for the round.
Squad Mode is perhaps the most interesting mode, which allows players to design a squad of 10, and can even play this mode alone. The squad can be challenged even when players are away from the game, which will boost its experience. It allows squad creators to swap created squad members for friends as well.
Speaking of being away from the screen -- an app has been developed to give players another gaming experience on mobile and tablet screens. Beachhead Studio teamed up with Infinity Ward to create the app, which features some of the favorite aspects of Call of Duty Elite and can be played on the go. Watch the trailer above to see more -- not to mention hear Eminem's latest song, which is featured in the trailer. As of late, it is unclear if this new song will be on his upcoming album.
