A California man has been arrested on multiple charges after police said he terrorized and threatened a driver with a gun before apologizing, saying they thought they were "someone else."

Just before 6:30 a.m. Saturday, deputies received reports of a suspect "brandishing a firearm," according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

The victim told deputies that the man, later identified as 36-year-old Edgar Adrian Arriagamediola, waved a semi-automatic handgun at them. The victim left the area, but soon noticed that Arriagamediola was following them in their vehicle.

The victim told officials that he drove aggressively toward their vehicle several times, nearly hitting them, telling them to pull over while pointing the handgun at them.

"Arriagamendiola pulled his vehicle in front of the victim and forced the victim to stop. Arriagamendiola approached the victim and apologized, saying he thought the victim was someone else. Arriagamediola then fled the scene," authorities said in the news release.

After the initial investigation, Arriagamediola was identified as the subject and a warrant was issued for his arrest. At around 5 p.m. the next day, deputies spotted Arriagamediola in his vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. During this, they discovered a loaded 9mm semi-automatic unserialized "ghost gun," stun gun, switchblade knife and methamphetamine in his possession.

Arriagamediola was arrested and has been charged with possession of methamphetamine while armed with a gun, felon in possession of an undetectable firearm (ghost gun) and carrying a loaded firearm in public, among other charges.
