Two brothers who were against the way of life of their sister reportedly viciously murdered the latter. Worse, they dismembered and stored her body inside a duffle bag before later burying it in a shallow grave.
The victim was identified as Maryam H. who was allegedly lured by two brothers known only as Sayed H. and Seyed H. due to privacy laws over in Germany.
According to reports, the brothers lured the 33-year-old mother of two to a meeting in Berlin on July 13 after which they choked, strangled to death and cut the throat of Maryam.
After killing their sister, Sayed and Seyed allegedly dismembered the body and then proceeded by cab to a train station with the body of their sister in a suitcase.
The brothers were spotted in CCTV footage obtained by German media. From the video, the two men could be seen lifting the black duffle bag they had bought from Primark for 60 euros (£50) onto a train at the Südkreuz train station in Berlin.
The siblings allegedly traveled to Bavaria at that time and then drove to a wooded area close to Sayed's home near Holzkirchen. It was there where they buried Maryam's body in a shallow grave.
The body of Maryam was later found and underwent autopsy. It was found that the 33-year-old had died from head and neck trauma.
According to prosecutors, Sayed and Seyed killed their sister because her Western way of life went against their archaic ideas of honor and morals and their image of women.
It turns out that Maryam was not ready to accept the fact that Maryam had divorced her husband who their sister married at the age of 16. The mom of two reportedly encountered violent incidents and was in a new relationship.
“We treat women differently than you do. A woman is like a servant who does the housework, cooks and looks after the children,” the brothers reportedly told investigators.
When asked about the suitcase, the brothers gave different statements, the BZ Berlin newspaper reported. Seyed claimed that boxing gloves and dumbbells were in the bag while his brother Sayad contradicted him and claimed there were clothes and heavy class objects inside.
The brothers have been in custody since Aug. 3 and face life imprisonment if they are convicted of murder.
