The first ex-husband of pop singer Britney Spears was slapped with multiple charges on Monday at a California court after he reportedly attempted to gatecrash her recent wedding with her longtime boyfriend in spite of not being invited to the ceremony.

Jason Alexander, a childhood friend of Spears whose current occupation is unknown, was charged by authorities with stalking, trespassing, battery, and vandalism after he attempted to crash Spears’ wedding without an invitation, according to the BBC.

Alexander, who is known for being married to Spears for less than three days in 2004, attempted to crash the preparations of the wedding in California while live-streaming it to an online audience, where he was escorted off the premises by Spears’ security team, the New York Post reported.

“An altercation occurred with the security officers and that's where the battery occurred... and during the altercation, an item was broken, so that's where the vandalism comes into play. And by being on private property, the trespass comes into play,” the police report said.

During the hearing of his charges, Alexander was given a bail amount of $100,000, which he attempted to reduce. He also attempted to convince the judge to release him on his own recognizance. Ventura County Judge Catherine Voelker refused to do both due to his past criminal experience and the severity of the charges.

Alexander reportedly had an open warrant for grand theft embezzlement and possession of stolen property when he was arrested by police officers during Spears’ wedding. It is unclear if he will also be charged with these on top of the other charges that he is currently facing.

Spears was able to get married to her long-time boyfriend Sam Asghari in spite of the disturbance from Alexander. Her guest list for the wedding included Madonna, Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, Ansel Elgort, and will.i.am.

Her father, mother, and sister, who were all involved in the controversial 13-year legal conservatorship that Spears was recently released from after years of legal battle, were not invited to the wedding.
