Brie Bella Didn’t Want Nikki Bella To Date Artem Chigvintsev: ‘Team John Cena’

Nikki Bella recently revealed how her twin sister, Brie Bella, didn’t support her decision to date Artem Chigvintsev. At the beginning of their relationship, Brie appeared to be rooting for John Cena.

While speaking with US Weekly, the 35-year-old “Dancing With The Stars” alum said that things have changed for Brie because she now adores Artem. Brie, who was with Nikki during the interview, also said that she supports whatever her sister wants.

“I was Team John for so long, you know, he was my brother,” Brie said. “If they get back together, I’d love it. So I’d never give Artem the time of day because I was like, ‘No, they’re getting back together, so I don’t care about you.’ But now … now I’ve finally given Artem a chance and he’s super sweet,” she added.

News about Nikki and Artem’s relationship were first reported by the publication earlier this year. Two months later, the couple confirmed the status of their relationship via a post on Instagram. In the photo, Nikki is kissing the “Dancing With The Stars” pro on the cheek.

Nikki and John called it quits on their engagement in April 2018 after five years together. Shortly after releasing a joint statement asking everyone to give them privacy during a difficult time, the couple announced that they have gotten back together. However, their reunion was short-lived.

“While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another,” the statement read. “We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives,” they added.

Since their split, John has been spotted out in public with engineer Shay Shariatzadeh. Last month, the couple was photographed holding hands while having dinner in Canada.

Meanwhile, Nikki and Artem first crossed paths when the former joined “Dancing With The Stars” Season 25 and were paired together. After the competition series ended, the dance partners continued to stay in touch.

While on the show, rumors already swirled that Nikki and Artem could be a couple. However, the “Total Bellas” star was still engaged to John at that time.
