Bride Gets Cold Feet, Leaves Groom at the Altar After He Seeing Him Faint During Chilly Ceremony

An Indian bride got cold feet and left her groom at the altar after watching him faint during their chilly late fall ceremony.

During the Dec. 15 wedding in Deoghar, a district in the state of Jharkhand in eastern India, groom Arnav fainted during one of the rituals because of the cold. Although the groom recovered and was able to return to complete the ceremony, the bride accused him of having a "disease" that prevented him from living in the cold and refused to marry him, as reported by India TV.

As is tradition, the wedding was held in an open air setting, despite the cold weather. Temperatures were reported to be around 46 degrees Fahrenheit and windy on the night of the ceremony, as reported by the Times of India.

Arnav was reportedly seen shivering before he fainted, which left him unconscious for half an hour, as reported by India Today.

The two families proceeded to get into an argument after the bride, Ankita, refused to marry Arnav when he returned.

Although the ceremony had gone smoothly up until that point, there had also been a point of disagreement beforehand when the wedding was planned in the groom's hometown. As per tradition, weddings are traditionally held in the hometown of the bride.

While family members tried to convince the bride to change her mind, the wedding was eventually called off the following morning.
