Brenda Bezares, wife of comedian and television presenter Mario Bezares, was rushed to the hospital after feeling sick. Bezares was placed in the intensive care unit after an apparent pulmonary embolism, a blockage of an artery in the lungs. Mario took over Brenda's Twitter account to break the news to her fans and followers. "I am Mario, Brenda is much better but delicate and she will be in intensive care a couple of days! Thank you for your support," he wrote. A couple days earlier, Brenda mentioned she was feeling ill but did not specify the cause. "I miss you guys! I am a little sick! Hope you have a night full of marvelous dreams." On December 4, she once again made note that her health was deteriorating more. "Good morning! Tired of sleeping. Today I woke up a lot less better. Thank you for your messages."

Brenda's blood clot in the lungs was the reason she was not feeling well the last few days. The actress and host is recuperating and the doctor allowed her to use her Twitter to address her fans. "Today, more than ever I thank God for a new day. Today, more than ever with happiness I say good morning, these days have been very difficult," she wrote. "Hard and frightning days! The reason of my hospitalization is due to a pulmonary embolism, fortunately it was detected in time and was able to be controlled." She also added, "Thank God my celestial and earthly angeles, Dr. Felix Cedillo, cardiologist, and Dr. Mario Guajardo, pneumonologist, and the great hospital. To my parents because without them I would not be telling [this story], to my lovely husband and to my children."

Brenda Bezares was very grateful for all the support she received through this difficult time in her life and continued thanking friends and family on the social network. "Friends, your prayers, and my fans that motivate me and give me strenght. I'm still in intensive care, but much better," she wrote. "I hope that in a couple of days to be at home and recuperate soon. Life has given me a tough situation one more time, but I am not resentful, I feel a very loved woman by God that surely has a greater purpose for me and allowed me to keep on living. Thanks to everyone! Mario always reads me your tweets and I wanted to tell you that if everything continues like this getting better, you can count on me for the Christmas festivities and sing Christmas carols. Love all of you."
