The teaser for “Better Call Saul” aired on AMC all over the US this past weekend, allowing “Breaking Bad” fans to rejoice over a very brief –nine seconds to be exact – clip. The short snippet shows a bit of what we can expect from the upcoming spinoff, Better Call Saul’s main character and commits to an air date in February 2015. In the trailer we can see faulty lawyer, Saul Goodman, played by Bob Odenkirk, speaking words of grim truth to a client: “Lawyers, we’re like health insurance. You hope you never need it, but man oh man, not having it? No.”
[Spoiler Alert] If we remember correctly where we left off (and we do), Saul’s destiny was pretty unclear at the end of “Breaking Bad.” The only thing we knew was that he was planning to start over, who knows how, who knows where, possibly with the help of that abominable vacuum cleaner guy who could magically erase people’s pasts. So one of the great parts of this spinoff is the fact that we’ll get to see where this journey took Goodman after all.
The most exciting part for die-hard “Breaking Bad” fans is that they’ll get to see actors from the show, like Jonathan Banks (who played Mike Ehrmantraut) and (don’t freak out) potentially Bryan Cranston’s Walter White could have a cameo or two! The only thing that’s certain and very exciting, is that Cranston will be directing at least one episode. He told The Daily Beast, he’d be thrilled to work with the same crew. “It’s a family… it’s exciting to think that we can rekindle that flame; that it’s still alive.”
