Dzhokhar Tsarneav was the younger brother responsible for the Boston Marathon bombings, and Boston Police commissioner has confirmed that he is also responsible for the death of his brother, Tamerlan Tsarneav.
The younger bomber, Dzhokhar killed his own brother, Tamerlan by running him over with a stolen SUV when Boston PD attempted to arrest the pair.
Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis revealed to CNN that he believes Tamerlan, 26, dies from first being hit by the SUV then being dragged 40 feet by his 19-year-old brother.
A medical examiner has yet to reveal the cause of death, however doctors did reveal that Tamerlan was shot, and suffered a bomb blast although the wounds caused by the tired of the SUV appear to be the most detrimental.
The Boston PD are questioning if Dzhokhar ran over his brother as part of a suicide pact so neither of them could stand trial, the brothers seemed determined to not be taken alive.
A member of law enforcement provided some insight about the apparent suicide pact, "These guys did not have an exit plan after the bombing, and from the way they have both ended up it looks like they planned on never being taken alive." The source continued stating that Dzhokhar also attempted suicide but failed. "Why else would this kid drive over his brother? It does not make any sense until you realize he also tried to take his own life. They had some sort of suicide pact worked out so they would not be taken alive."
The Police Chief of Watertown Massachusetts, Edward Deveau, provided a grisly account of the fire fight and execution of the suicide pact between the brothers. "He all of a sudden comes out from under cover and just starts walking down the street, shooting at our police officers, trying to get closer," Deveau said. After he ran out of ammunition a mere 10-feet from the closest police officer, another officer tackled Tamerlan to the ground.
As Tamerlan was being detained by police following the fire fight, Dzhokhar jumped behind the wheel of SUV and barreled toward the group.
Officers who were restraining Tamerlan Tsarnaev got out of the way of the speeding vehicle, which ended up driving over the suspect and dragging him about 40 feet, the police chief told CNN.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later.
