The next Bond film doesn't even have a title and it looks like rumors have been circulating that James Bond's next love interest will be a none other than Penélope Cruz.
Yahoo U.K. reports that an unnamed source close to the production is saying that Cruz has been on Bond producer's radar for some time as a possible love interest for the current James Bond, 45-year-old Daniel Craig, but her previous commitments have prevented her from being a leading lady in the franchise saying, "The producers have tried to get Penélope before, but she has never been available because of other commitments. The discussions have been going on for some time and they are working out the contract details now."
"She'll be a great Bond girl. Bond girls are always brainy as well as sexy, and that's totally Penélope," the source added.
Cruz is also currently pregnant but the source reveals producers aren't worried about the new baby's impact on Penélope's schedule saying, "She got back into shape fast after the first baby and will no doubt regain her figure quickly this time. She'll be a great Bond girl. Bond girls are always brainy as well as sexy, and that's totally Penélope."
Penélope certainly has an in with the film seeing how hubby, Javier Bardem, played the villain in the last Bond film "Skyfall."
The untitled film isn't scheduled for release until 2015 and production will begin summer 2014 just after Cruz celebrates her 40th Birthday making her the oldest bond girl in the movies history.
Sam Mendes, "Skyfall" director declined to direct the follow-up to the previous Bond film but is now mulling over the idea of returning for the next two features, pending other commitments.
Do you think Cruz would make a good Bond girl?
