A bombing suspect responsible for the Boston Marathon bombings died on Friday after a deadly shooting spree.

At 10:20 PM on Thursday evening there was a disturbance on the normally quiet MIT campus, upon responding to the disturbance a MIT police officer was shot multiple times by two shooters. The MIT police officer died at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Following this shooting, an armed carjacking took place in Cambridge. The assailants were two males; the victim was jumped by suspects and then released after 30 minutes at a Cambridge gas station.

The reported stolen car was followed into the suburb of Watertown, Massachusetts. At the intersection of Dexter and Laurel, the two suspects in the car then released explosives out of the vehicle and engaged in gun fire with cops.

During this firefight, one of the suspects was injured and taken to a local hospital. He was declared deceased upon arrival to the hospital. Varying reports are now speculating that the suspects died due to detonating a bomb that was reportedly strapped to his chest.

A manhunt has now ensued in the suburb of Watertown searching for another suspect who is currently at large.

UPDATE-9:13 AM

The two suspects have been confirmed and are brothers of Chechen origin.

The suspect still evading police was identified as Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, born in Kyrgyzstan, he is currently living in the Boston suburb of Cambridge. He was the suspect in the white hat in surveillance photos from the marathon. His brother, who is now deceased after a frantic firefight with police was identified as Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, born in Russia. He was the suspect in the black hat in the FBI photos.

UPDATE-9:36 AM

Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who ahs been dubbed as Suspect #1, was killed overnight, officials said. Doctors at a Boston hospital where Suspect No. 1 died said they treated a man with a possible blast injury and multiple gunshot wounds.
