Scarlett Johansson shared some details about her upcoming solo movie “Black Widow.” Filming has wrapped, and the movie will see the superhero deal with a “real crisis” that will transform her.
After the tragic events for the character in “Avengers: Endgame,” the solo movie may be the last time that the fans will get to see Natasha Romanoff in action. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Johansson looked back at her acting career and teased some details about her upcoming superhero movie.
Johansson said that since she wrapped filming just two weeks ago, it was still fresh in her mind, which made it difficult to give a perspective of the whole movie. Still, she teased that the movie was about “self-forgiveness” and “family.”
Natasha used to be a killer before she switched sides and became one of the good guys. In the movie, she will be seen in a “transitional phase.” She will also find herself in a “real crisis.”
By facing the problems in “Black Widow,” Johansson’s character will transform into the person that the fans know her as in the Marvel movies. The journey in the film will make her “more grounded” and “self-possessed.”
Although the action packed movie is going to be about Natasha’s journey, Johansson also promised that the fans will be surprised by how much “heart” is in the movie. The actress added that this is a special film for the character and pointed out that the fans may be emotional about the character after watching her “hard ending” in “Avengers: Endgame.”
While Natasha is the main star in the film, there will be some cameos of some of the other superheroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to the “leaked” screen shots of the trailer of the movie posted on We Got This Covered, Robert Downey Jr. will be reprising his role as Tony Stark for what may be a cameo.
“Black Widow” will be released on May 1, 2020.
