“Big Brother” Season 21 will premiere on CBS in just a few weeks. Ahead of the new installment’s release, the network has also dropped a teaser for the hit reality TV show.
Not much information may be found in the trailer except that a group of complete strangers will live under the same roof and will be under surveillance 24 hours a day. The hashtag #hotmess was used, which has always been the case every season since “Big Brother” premiered.
The actual premiere date for “Big Brother” Season 21 has not yet been announced. But based on the previous season’s premiere dates, the first episode usually airs during the third or fourth week of June. “Big Brother” always airs in the summer, and “Celebrity Big Brother” airs around Christmas and New Year.
“Big Brother” host Julie Chen previously teased her return to the show. But prior to this, fans of the host became worried after she announced her departure from “The Talk.” Chen’s husband, Len Moonves, was also ousted as CBS’ CEO following his sexual assault allegations.
Moonves was ousted from the network in 2018, but Chen returned to host “Celebrity Big Brother” Season 2 in January. This suggests that the “Big Brother” host could still return for Season 21.
As of late, the cast of “Big Brother” Season 21 has not yet been named. But basing things on the previous seasons, it could be very easy to predict. CBS typically casts a boyish woman, a hunky man, a sexy bombshell, a geek or a nerd, a religious individual, a surfer, a countryside resident and more.
Every season, “Big Brother” introduces 16 houseguests who are giving the opportunity to bring home $500,000. Every week the houseguests will participate in a series of competitions to secure their spot in the game. Head of Household competitions and Power of Veto competitions are just two of the most popular games in the franchise.
