Betty White is taking some cues from Miley Cyrus to promote her Lifetime TV series, "Off Their Rockers." The 91-year-old actress surprised the world by riding a wrecking ball, but don't worry, she was fully clothed. "I was asked to help promote my show "Off Their Rockers," which is coming to Lifetime," White says in the 30-second commercial. "So I got some ideas from recent pop culture events that really got the kids talking." All of the sudden, we see Betty dressed in white, swinging across atop a wrecking ball.
But that wasn't all. Betty pushed the envelope a little more. "Can someone bring me a sledgehammer?" White says while holding on to the ball's chain. "How about a foam finger?" It was all referencing Miley Cyrus' famous video about the song that's supposedly about her ex-fiance Liam Hemsworth, in which she swings naked on top of a wrecking ball and has some intimate moments with a sledgehammer. And when we say "intimate," we mean that she licked it. White, however, didn't lick the prop but she sure kissed it by the end of the promo.
As for the foam finger, well, how could we forget the things that were done to/with that poor inanimate object at the MTV VMA's 2013? However, Betty played coy and just presented it without engaging in any weird touching with it. But we're pretty sure that in "Off Their Rockers" we'll see plenty more action going on. This reality comedy TV series officially premiered April 4, 2012 and featured a group of elderly people playing pranks on members of the younger generation, in a "Candid Camera" type of manner. Betty White served as the narrator and executive producer. On May 13, 2012, NBC renewed the series for a second season in the mid-season schedule, but on July 11, 2013, The Hollywood Reporter reported that NBC had canceled the series, citing a drop-off in ratings and low DVR viewership.
Nevertheless, it was announced on October 18, 2013, that Lifetime has revived the series for a 20-episode third season that will air in 2014. Check out the promo below and let us know if you'll be watching the new season!
