Ben Affleck Dating Musician Katie Cherry?

Ben Affleck has been rumored to be dating musician Katie Cherry after being spotted together. Are they official?

According to reports, there’s no reason for fans to get their hopes up yet. A source has informed E! News that Affleck and Cherry have seen each other a few times, but they are not officially dating.

"Ben has dated over the past year but this is nothing that serious at this time," the source told E! News. He met the Los Angeles-based musician on dating platform “Raya” a few months ago, Us Weekly reported.

Aside from speculation about his dating life, fans have also expressed concern over Affleck’s sobriety slip after his video with Cherry in West Hollywood showed the actor faltering in his steps.

The “Gone Girl” star has been battling alcohol addiction for years. A friend of Affleck also defended the actor to People’s Magazine.

"Sobriety is difficult and elusive for everyone struggling with addiction," a source told People magazine. "Ben has acknowledged he’s going to slip up from time to time. It was never as if this was simply behind him."

While Affleck has not admitted to an official relationship, he has not closed the door on all chances.

Affleck admitted to dating on an Instagram post in a bid to bait his audience and raise awareness on The Midnight Mission, a cause-oriented organization dedicated to battling addiction and “ helps those in need with housing, training, development and recovery”. He also put up a link for donation on his Instagram profile.

"HA, you got me. I'm dating. But let's be serious for a moment and talk about something that is actually important," he wrote on the post.

"I have been in recovery for over a year and part of that is helping out others. @themidnightmission is an incredible organization that helps those in need with housing, training, development and recovery. I'm making a donation today because there are people battling addiction every day that don't have the resources and need help," he said.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced their divorce in 2015 after a ten-year marriage. They finalized their split last year. The former couple co-parents their three kids at present.
