Billie Jean, a beloved rescue chicken has been outfitted with a custom high-visibility vest to ensure her safety as she continues crossing the road.
The two-year-old chicken rescued by pub landlady Sharron Brimble, now living at The Railway Inn in Cam, Gloucestershire, became a favorite among pub patrons, Gloucestershire Live reported.
Recently, she began wandering beyond the pub garden into neighboring yards and across roads, leading to concerned locals about her safety.
"She's a real character and prefers her own company - she doesn't like to be around any other chickens," Brimble said.
In response to safety concerns from the community, Sharron ordered a special chicken-sized high-vis jacket for Billie Jean.
The bright vest helps make the chicken more visible to drivers as she roams around.
The Railway Inn plans to keep Billie Jean well-protected and monitored as she remains a favorite in the town.
