Frank Bank best known for his role as Clarence "Lumpy" Rutherford in "Leave It to Beaver," died on April 13 from undisclosed causes. His death came just a day after his 71st birthday, after being hospitalized in Rancho Mirage, California.
Jerry Mathers who played the show's title character, Beaver, gave his regards to his deceased co-star, "I was so sad to hear today of the passing of my dear friend and business associate Frank Bank, who played Lumpy on Leave it to Beaver. He was a character and always kept us laughing. My deepest condolences to Frank's family."
Bank was born in Los Angeles and first appeared on screen as the very young Will Rogers in the 1952 Warner Bros. biopic The Will Rogers Story.
He played the loveable bully, Clarence "Lumpy" Rutherford, in the show "Leave It to Beaver" from 1957 until 1963. After the original run he was also cast as Clarence in the series sequel, "The New Leave It to beaver" which aired from 1983 until 1989.
Bank is survived by his second wife, Rebecca and his two daughters.
