Season two of "Beauty and the Beast" premieres tonight on the CW with some major changes to the show and a few twists fans didn't see coming. First off the show will be shifting its focus from the "procedural and crime stuff," says "Beauty and the Beast" star Kristen Kreuk to the Huffington Post. While speaking with HP on the Toronto set of the CW show Kreuk said "Beauty and the Beast" will be more of a "mythology based show, very much steeped in the beast world."
Jay Ryan who plays the show's main beast also spoke with the Huffington Post and agreed with his costar about the direction the show needed to take. "The procedural element was really good in the beginning to set up what Catherine did and who she was and lead into Vincent's life. But this year, there's an element of procedural, but it's really connected to the main characters. It's part of their lives, they're working out who their enemies are and trying to overcome what their enemies are doing to them. So it's more of a whodunit within the present terms of who they are and what's going on in their lives."
So what should fans be looking forward to this season? Well here are a few juicy spoilers to keep you satisfied until tonight's season 2 premiere. First of all Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) is still alive. His bounces back pretty quickly from his near death experience but his most recent brush with death has left him changed. Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) is beyond obsessed with find out what happened to Vincent (Jay Ryan). Her need to locate her missing love will place her in danger and start to eat away at her other relationships.
Vincent will reappear about 10-minutes into the season premiere. Will he be the man that Cat remembers? Something important will be missing from Vincent when Cat eventually finds him, what do you think it could be? If you are wondering about Muirfield, make sure you watch the season premiere and all of your questions will be answered. "Beauty and the Beast" returns on its new night Monday Oct. 7, at 8pm.
