With the way Mexican beauty Salma Hayek looks at 48, it’s easy to suspect there’s a portrait of her aging in an attic somewhere, but in fact, her beauty regime is much more simple than that. Hayek talked to People about her conservative beauty routine and says that she doesn’t really take big risks, referring mostly to surgery. However, that’s not to say she wouldn’t consider it, just not right now: “I don’t know if I would never get plastic surgery. I’m not planning on it right now,” she explained.
However, when it comes to Botox, Hayek has a much stronger opinion (and a line of beauty products to prevent its use, too). “I don’t believe in Botox, especially when people do it so young,” she said. It especially goes wrong, from her point of view, when they tell young girls to start early: “‘Do it young, so you never get wrinkles.’ No, your face is going to fall. You’ll have to keep getting more and more and more each time. So if you’re going to do it, I recommend doing it as late as you can,” she insists.
Aside from being genetically blessed, Salma credits her mother and grandmother’s invaluable beauty advice: “Wash your face before you go to sleep — no matter what… ‘You have to do this for yourself. Just think about how much faster you’re going to age if you don’t.'” Other Salma Hayek beauty facts revealed by to Vogue magazine might make you a bit more jealous: the actress hardly ever finds time to exercise so shs tries to turn every moment she possibly can into a workout; she much prefers to air-dry than blow-dry her hair, and yes, she believes in mastering the art of contouring. Her husband François-Henri Pinault is one lucky guy!
