As award season continues on the road to the Oscars, we take a detour at the BAFTA Awards 2017, to have the British Academy honor the best in film. Stephen Fry is set as main host of the event for the 12th time. The ceremony will take place at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall where celebrities in movies will come together at the big night. The BAFTAs will air on Sunday, February 12 on the BBC One channel starting at 9pm (local London time), with a 2-hour tape delay. The BBC iPlayer will live stream the show if you're within the confines of the U.K. The award show doesn't have a broadcast partner, but highlights will be provided online.
Stars that are confirmed to attend include: Lin-Manuel Miranda, Penelope Cruz, Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling, Meryl Streep, Viola Davis, J.K. Rowling, Andrew Garfield, Nicole Kidman, Daisy Ridley and Jamie Dornan. Other celebrities confirmed to attend the gala are: Bryce Dallas Howard, Eddie Redmayne, Ella Purnell, Ewen Bremner, Felicity Jones, George MacKay, Holliday Grainger, Isabelle Huppert, Julia Stiles, Luke Evans, Sir Mark Rylance, Noel Clarke, Noomi Rapace, Rafe Spall, Riz Ahmed, Russell Tovey, Simon Pegg, Sophie Turner, Stanley Tucci and Thandie Newton.
For Best Film the following works are nominated: "Arrival," "I, Daniel Blake," "La La Land," "Manchester By The Sea" and "Moonlight."
Best Leading Actress nominees are: Amy Adams ("Arrival"), Emily Blunt ("The Girl On The Train"), Emma Stone ("La La Land"), Meryl Streep ("Florence Foster Jenkins") and Natlie Portman ("Jackie").
In the Leading Actor catgory the following compete for the trophy: Andrew Garfield ("Hacksaw Ridge"), Casey Affleck ("Manchester By The Sea"), Jake Gyllenhaal ("Nocturnal Animals"), Ryan Gosling ("La La Land") and Viggo Mortensen ("Captain Fantastic").
