Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny has continued responding to the now infamous remarks about his homeland made by a comedian who spoke at former President Donald Trump's rally in New York City on Sunday.
Benito Antonio Ocasio Cortes is one of the most followed Spanish-speaking music artists on social media and a streaming giant. His first response to Tony Hinchcliffe calling Puerto Rico a "floating island of garbage" was to formally support Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.
Two days later, he went further.

Hinchcliffe's words are accompanied by a powerful video produced by Bad Bunny's team, which celebrate Puerto Ricans who have brought pride to the 'Isla del Encanto.'
Narrated by Puerto Rican Oscar-winning actor Benicio del Toro, the video was created to open Bad Bunny's December 2021 concerts in Puerto Rico.
The video, only featured at the Hiram Bithorn Stadium in Puerto Rico during the "P FKN R" shows, feature global achievements of Puerto Ricans, going from Justice Sonia Sotomayor's appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court to Monica Puig's Olympic gold medal in tennis.
The video highlights contributions Puerto Ricans have made to the world and the pride they bring to their people.
In one segment, Del Toro states, "Guided by those who came before us, we protect our shores, our university, and our future. Because legends born here won't back down." This message aimed to inspire audiences facing the challenges of power outages, Hurricane Maria's devastation, corruption, and more challenges faced by the island recently.
The video closes with words from Bad Bunny: "We've been fighting since day one; we're the definition of heart and resilience. We're still here, and for those who forget who we are... don't worry, we'll remind you, proudly."
